  • Day 1: Colombo Arrival-Kandalama (170kms/04hrs drive)

    Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport near Colombo. You will be met by our Representative at the Airport and transferred to Kandalama. Depending on arrival time, we will visit Pinnewela Elephant Orphanage located around 55 miles from Colombo, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded Elephants. The number of elephants has increased to more than 40 now, including baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as the babies born, as a result of the captive breeding programme. Later, arrive and checkin at your Hotel. Overnight at Kandalama.

  • Day 2: Sigiriya Excursion

    After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya. Climb the fifth century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70-hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive lawns including the renowned water gardens decorate the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Cloud Maidens' of Sigiriya, nestled in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. Overnight at Kandalama.

  • Day 3: Kandalama-Kandy (87kms/02½hrs drive)

    After breakfast, checkout and proceed to Kandy, the hill capital is another “World Heritage Sites”. It was the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings during the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule and finally ceded to the British in 1815 after an agreement. To the Buddhist of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the “Dalada Maligawa” - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Close by are the remains of the Royal Palace (Maha Wasala), Palle Wasala- where the Queens stayed-now used for the National Museum, Meda Wasala where other close relatives lived, Audience Hall, Natha Devala and Vishnu Devala are situated. The Bathing Pavilion (Ulpenge) is by the Lake and in the Center of the lake is the Island called “Kiri samudraya” (Milk white ocean) used by the kings as the summerhouse. After noon, we continue sightseeing in Kandy including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and Royal Botanical gardens. Later, checkin at the hotel and evening at lesiure. Overnight at Kandy.

  • Day 4: Kandy-Nuwara Eliya (76kms/02½hrs drive)

    After breakfast, checkout and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Enroute, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens which is a walker’s paradise offering an enjoyable break from bustling streets of the city. Replete with manicured lawns, well-tended pavilions, fernery, flowerbeds bursting with colourful blooms, the site is a definite visit if one is exploring Kandy. The highlights of this attraction are the orchid house and the giant Javan fig tree. Proceed to Nuwara Eliya by Train. Feast your eyes on the scenic views from the comfort of your observation carriage. Enjoy a unique dining experience on board as the train winds its way through the mountain valleys. Your car will be waiting for you at Nanu Oya, the last station before Nuwara Eliya, after which you can proceed to the town by car. Overnight at Nuwara Eliya.

  • Day 5: Nuwara Eliya

    After breakfast, visit a sprawling tea estate and factory, where you will be able to learn how the finest tea in the world is made. Wander among slopes carpeted with lush tea bushes and watch how the delicate buds are plucked, processed graded and packaged. Finish the tour with a freshly brewed cup of fragrant Ceylon tea while enjoying the scenic views. Nuwara Eliya, with its refreshing mountain air and picturesque vistas, offers visitors the most welcoming getaway from the tropical heat down by the coast. Take a stroll along the banks of Lake Gregory, after which you and yours significant other can take in the emerald links of the Victoria Golf Course, a Donald Steele masterpiece, which is among the finest courses 18-hole golf courses in South Asia. Indulge in some freshly picked strawberries at a local strawberry farm while learning about the local harvesting systems. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Nuwara Eliya.

  • Day 6: Nuwara Eliya-Yala (85kms/02½hrs drive)

    After breakfast, checkout and you will descend the hills and head south to the dry-zone and into Sri Lanka’s most gratifying wildlife reserve, Yala National Park. Afternoon, explore safari at Yala National park. Forming an area of scrub, light forest, grassy plains and brackish lagoons, Yala Park is rich in wildlife and you’re virtually certain to encounter elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, deer, hares, peacocks and monkeys. There are many indigenous bird species to pique the interest of the bird watching enthusiasts. If lucky you might also see the elusive leopards and relaxed sloth bears! Return to your resort. Overnight at Yala.

  • Day 7: Yala-Bentota (225kms/04hrs drive)

    After breakfast, its time to checkout and drive to the blue fringe of the Island. Enroute, visit Dalawalla beach, Hiriketiya beach and Mirissa beach. Also make a stop at Galle classical city. This picturesque Galle Fort is a perfect combination of blue ocean, history and culture. It is the slow beating heart of Galle. Inside the Fort, you can walk along the little streets and enjoy world old charm while visiting the line of boutique shops, cafes serving yummy food and cold beer. Don’t forget to browse through the local vegetable and fruit markets as well as the fish markets. Arrive and checkin at your Hotel. Overnight at Bentota.

  • Day 8: Mirissa Excursion

    After early breakfast, proceed to the chic little coastal town of Mirissa. Pristine beaches framed by swaying palm trees kissed by warm azure blue ocean awaits our guests. It’s also among the top hot spots to catch sight of some majestic blue and sperm whales emerging out of the depths just of the coast. On a lucky day, you will also be able to watch the frolicking antics of large pods of spinner, bottlenose and striped dolphins as well. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Bentota.

  • Day 9: Bentota-Colombo (196kms/03½hrs drive)

    After breakfast, its time to checkout and drive to the historic city of the Galle, where you will get the chance to wander around the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dutch Fort. Walk along its cobbled streets lined with carefully preserved colonial buildings, shop at chic little concept stores and pay a visit to the Dutch Church and Museum to learn about the fortification’s rich history. Inside the Fort, you can walk along the little streets and enjoy world old charm while visiting the line of boutique shops, cafes serving yummy food and cold beer. Don’t forget to browse through the local vegetable and fruit markets as well as the fish markets. Later, proceed to Colombo. Evening free for shopping. Overnight at Colombo.

  • Day 10: Colombo Departure

    After breakfast, checkout and transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight.
